Hi, I'm Emani Lewis.
Community Builder. Realtor. HR Professional. Founder.
Started in grief. Rooted in love. Growing a future we deserve.
My journey has taken me from student to educator, from community organizer to nonprofit founder, from HR professional to Realtor. Along the way, I've learned that meaningful change happens when people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Today, I use every part of my experience to help individuals, organizations, and communities grow with purpose.
MOCHA was born from loss.
IMOCHA was born from loss.
In 2018, I lost both my grandmother, Linda, and my younger brother, Jamauriya. Their lives, their stories, and the systems that failed them forever changed the course of my own.
What began as grief became a commitment: to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and valued before crisis arrives.
MOCHA was founded in 2019 as a response to that commitment and as a reminder that healing should never be a privilege.
Rooted in Community
My work has always been rooted in the communities that raised me.
As a KIPP student, alumna, board member, staff member, and now parent, I've experienced firsthand the power of people investing in one another. I've spent my career building relationships, supporting families, creating opportunities, and helping individuals navigate systems that weren't always built with them in mind.
Whether through education, workforce development, community engagement, or advocacy, I've learned that lasting change happens when people feel connected to something bigger than themselves.
Community isn't just where healing begins. It's where transformation becomes possible.
Growing the Future We Deserve
Today, that mission continues to evolve.
Through MOCHA, Empower Hour, consulting, real estate, and community partnerships, I work to create pathways for healing, stability, opportunity, and growth.
I believe every person deserves access to the knowledge, resources, and support needed to thrive. Whether helping a family achieve homeownership, supporting an organization through growth, or creating spaces for learning and connection, my goal remains the same:
To leave people, places, and communities better than I found them.
Where We’re Going
MOCHA is growing into a hub for healing, education, empowerment, and community connection.
Our vision includes:
• Expanding community-centered programs for youth and families
• Creating spaces for healing, learning, and belonging
• Increasing access to financial literacy, career development, and homeownership education
• Building partnerships that strengthen communities across California
• Equipping people with the tools, relationships, and resources they need to thrive
We believe healing is just the beginning. Our goal is to help individuals, families, and communities build the futures they deserve.

“We turn our grief into gardens.
We build what we needed.
And we choose healing — not just for ourselves, but for everyone still here.”
